Bowdoin Celebrates the Ribbon Cutting of The Home for Little Wanderers

Bowdoin recently completed a major expansion project at The Home for Little Wanderers’ Longview Farm Campus and celebrated with the school at their formal ribbon cutting which was held on November 19th.

As Construction Manager, Bowdoin worked in conjunction with The Home’s staff, Northstar Project & Real Estate Services project managers, Roundel 47 architects, and Beals and Thomas, Inc. civil engineers to provide extensive pre-construction services and full general contracting services.

New construction took place on an active campus and entailed four single-story residence buildings, totaling 14,530 s.f., as well as a three-story 31,000 s.f. addition to the Longview Educational Center. Bowdoin also renovated the existing 16,000 s.f. school building.

In total, the project encompasses 62,000 s.f. of new and renovated space featuring housing for 44 residents, a cafeteria with commercial kitchen and servery, multiple classrooms, middle and upper school libraries, music rooms and administrative offices, as well as upgrades to the existing gym and locker rooms and vocational classrooms. The project also involved a new entry drive, staff and visitor parking, improved septic system, improved storm water drainage / recharge system, new water service and new landscaping.
