Bowdoin Breaks Ground on Needham Street Village Shops

March 2014
NEWTON, MA

Bowdoin Construction recently broke ground on two new retail buildings totaling 19,200 SF, for Bierbrier Development.  The project, designed by Prellwitz Chilinski Associates, involves the demolition of two existing buildings, and the construction of two single-story, steel-framed facilities which will be built on piles. The exterior façade will feature brick, Hardi-siding, Nichiha panels, EIFS and ceramic tile. The multi-tenant development will be a pedestrian friendly small shops retail center with a “Main Street” feel.  The project is seeking a LEED Silver certification.

The official ground breaking ceremony took place on March 13th.  Pictured here from left to right are Newton Mayor, Setti Warren; Bierbrier Development President, Len Bierbrier; and Bowdoin Construction President, Irwin Yanowitz.
