Bowdoin Completes Expansion for Beacon High School

WATERTOWN, MA

Bowdoin Construction recently completed the Nancy C. Lincoln Center at Beacon High School in Watertown, MA.  Designed by Elliott Associates Architects, the 7,400 s.f. addition includes a new multi-purpose hall; which accommodates physical education and sports activities, is the site of theatrical and musical performances, and hosts school-wide events like prom and graduation.  The addition also includes a Creative Arts Studio, classrooms, and meeting space for transitional counseling. The new facility was added on to the existing school, which was kept fully operational throughout the construction process. Nancy C. Lincoln was honored at the formal Dedication Ceremony, which was held on May 28th and included attendance by former Governor Michael Dukakis and his wife Kitty Dukakis.

Beacon High School is a fully accredited, coeducational, therapeutic high school serving adolescents facing anxiety, depression or other emotional challenges. With a focus on arts education, self-expression and holistic educational experiences, Beacon students find success in academics and beyond. Beacon is a program of Walker, a non-profit leader in special education, residential treatment and community consultation for children and youth facing complex behavioral, learning and mental health challenges.
