The facility, designed by Melton-Ferre Associates, involved extensive pre-construction services and is constructed of wood framing, Hardi-Plank and wood shingle siding, asphalt shingle and standing-seam metal roofing and features a vaulted glass entryway. The interior fitout features dental operatories, clinical exam rooms, labs, a pharmacy, social services meeting rooms, multiple nurse’s stations and staff offices. |

Dedham, MA - Bowdoin Construction recently completed the adaptive reuse of commercial office space into a state-of-the-art ophthalmology care center. The facility, designed by Hardaway Associates Architects, required selective demolition, new MEP systems and HVAC upgrades. The newly completed facility features eleven exam rooms, procedure rooms, testing rooms, a workshop and offices for the doctors and staff. The space also includes an optical shop for clients to select the latest in eyewear. |

Plymouth, MA - Bowdoin Construction has recently completed construction of the Village at Colony Place for Saxon Partners, and the grand opening was held on September 14th. The new upscale lifestyle center totals 170,000 s.f. and included the construction of six multi-tenant retail buildings, as well as an extensive landscape and hardscape package. The buildings, designed by Carter Burgess, were constructed of structural steel and CMU, with granite, brick, EIFS, and stone façade. Prior to building “The Village” Bowdoin served as construction manager for the construction of “The Plaza” at Colony Place, designed by Cubellis Associates, which included 130,000 s.f. of build-to-suit retail stores and 170 acres of site development.

Norwood, MA - Bowdoin recently completed the adaptive reuse and expansion of a former corporate campus into a new 46,800 s.f. private K-8 school for the South Area Solomon Schechter Day School. Bowdoin provided pre-construction budgeting, scheduling and safety planning services as well as full general contracting and construction management services for the new coeducational school. The project, designed by Design Partnership of Cambridge, involved the comprehensive renovation of 35,400 s.f. of space into classrooms, science labs and offices. It also involved the new construction of a 7,200 s.f. gymnasium and a 4,200 s.f. connecting structure to house Art and Music rooms, storage, a kitchen, toilet rooms, offices, a corridor, and a vestibule. All work was completed on schedule and in time for the start of the 2007 school year. |

South Attleboro, MA – Southern New England Surgery Center held a grand opening party at their new facility in South Attleboro, MA on June 22, 2007. Bowdoin completed the fast-track adaptive reuse of a former supermarket into this endoscopic and orthopedic surgery center. The 25,000 s.f. facility, designed by Hardaway Associates, required pre-construction services, cutting in of all new windows around the building perimeter, a new entrance canopy, extensive slab cutting and underground plumbing, a new roof, all new MEP and fire protection systems, and medical gas piping. The new facility features eight operating rooms, two procedure rooms, nurses' stations, reception/lobby area, doctor's offices and a kitchen/lunch room.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held on April 3, 2007.

Needham, MA - Bowdoin worked with Cantata and their representative, Diversified Project Management, as construction manager for this fast track build to suit renovation of a 40,000 s.f. office building in Needham, MA. This new space, designed by Black Cow Architects, serves as Cantata Technologies new headquarters. The building received a new sprinkler system, MEP upgrades and new hardwall offices and labs for this high-tech firm.

Wenham, MA - Bowdoin Construction recently celebrated
the installation of the final steel beam atop the 82,000 s.f. Ken Olsen
Science Center at Gordon College in Wenham, MA. The beam, signed by
Bowdoin's project team, representatives from Gordon's facilities staff and
administration, Payette Associates Architects and Quinn Iron Works, was set
into place by two of Quinn's tuxedo clad workers. All above mentioned firms
were on hand to take part in celebrating this important project milestone. |

Andover, MA - Bowdoin recently completed the conversion of a Franciscan Center in Andover, Massachusetts into a 60,000 s.f. custom-designed school for autistic students. The project, designed by Dyer Brown, involved selective demolition and asbestos abatement followed by a review and replacement of all electrical and HVAC systems, complete rehabilitation of all bathrooms, a new fire suppression system and new fire and security systems. The building was then fitout to reflect the needs of students with autism. |

Watertown, MA - Bowdoin Construction recently completed the conversion of a former book depository in Watertown, Massachusetts into a private school for pre-kindergarten to sixth grade students. The project, designed by Maryann Thompson Architects, consisted of selective demolition, the installation of new windows and cedar clapboard siding, and the construction of new classrooms, staff offices, arts/music room, library, an atrium and reception areas. Construction was performed utilizing sustainable, natural materials which were chosen to reduce contaminates and indoor pollution. The building also reduces the use of energy by employing natural daylighting, ventilation, carefully calibrated heating and lighting systems, and waterless and low-flow bathroom fixtures. Extensive sitework involved turning a paved parking lot into a combination play area and school parking reducing the paved area by half, restoring grass and trees, and utilizing natural drainage through an underground stormwater infiltration system. |

Newton, MA - Bowdoin recently completed the EZ storage facility at 300 Needham Street in Newton. Working in conjunction with 300 Needham Street LLC as their construction management representative, Bowdoin monitored all construction for this new 221,000 s.f. storage facility and retail development. Bowdoin coordinated with 300 Needham Street LLC and their architect, ADD Inc., throughout the design phase, and provided on-site supervision and scheduling coordination throughout construction. The recently completed facility includes a 190,000 s.f. storage facility constructed of light gage framing over three stories, as well as 31,000 s.f. of retail space with high visibility at this busy Needham Street intersection. |

Wellesley, MA - Bowdoin recently completed renovations and upgrades to an existing 12,000 s.f. auditorium facility on Babson College’s Wellesley Campus. The project involved upgrading the fire suppression and alarm systems, new mechanical systems, removal and replacement of the auditorium’s wood flooring and extensive cosmetic upgrades. |

Wenham, MA - Bowdoin recently broke ground for the construction of this 82,000 s.f. state-of-the-art science center, named in honor of the founder of Digital Equipment Corporation, on the campus of Gordon College. The new facility, designed by Payette Associates, is being constructed of structural steel, a brick and precast concrete facade and standing seam metal panel roof. The facility will feature numerous wet and dry labs, classrooms, faculty offices, a 400-seat auditorium, a case study/lecture hall and a main lobby with museum quality displays. The entire building will be fitted with the latest technology and equipment for instruction and research in the various science disciplines. |

Plymouth, MA - Bowdoin recently completed the construction of this new 130 room Hilton Garden Inn in Plymouth, Massachusetts for Linchris Hotel Corp. The 78,000 s.f. 5-story hotel, designed by Group One Partners, Inc., was constructed of concrete block and precast plank, structural steel, standing seam metal roof, and an EIFS, brick and cementicious siding facade. The building features 130 guest rooms, an indoor swimming pool, whirlpool, fitness area, restaurant with professional kitchen, conference rooms, and a lounge area with fireplace. |

Sutton, MA - Bowdoin recently completed the construction of the New England Customer Operations Center for The Schwan Food Company, Inc. in Sutton, Massachusetts. The new 20,000 s.f. building, designed by HGA Architects, includes 4,000 s.f. of office space, 12,000 s.f. of -20°F cold storage for frozen food distribution, a 3,000 s.f. temperature controlled 0°F loading dock and 1,000 s.f. of dry storage. The building was constructed of structural steel with a manufactured metal panel, brick and Arriscraft Stone exterior; and required sophisticated mechanical and plumbing systems. |
