Bowdoin was selected by the Diocese
of Fall River to provide construction management and general contracting
services for a new parish center at the Holy Cross Church. Bowdoin worked
throughout the pre-construction phase in conjunction with the church and
their architect, to evaluate progress drawings and provide cost estimates,
value engineering, and project scheduling. The new wood frame building
includes Hardiplank siding, architectural grade asphalt roof shingles,
vinyl clad windows, and fypon trim; and houses classrooms, meeting rooms,
a “Great Room,” offices, restrooms and an elevator. This project
represents the first time the Diocese has ever utilized the construction
management approach to project delivery. Prior to this job, all
construction through the Diocese was completed on a lump sum bid basis. |
