Bowdoin was selected as construction manager for the renovation and
expansion of Elder Services’ new facility on the Dorchester/Mattapan line.
The project, Designed by Melton-Ferre Associates, consists of renovating
the existing 32,000 s,f, building including new windows, a new roof, all
new interior finishes and upgrading the existing elevators. The facility
will also receive three separate additions totaling 8,000 s.f., which will
include a new canopy/drive-thru area, new handicap entrances and
additional support space. When complete, the new facility will feature
staff offices and conference rooms, four exam rooms, five treatment rooms,
day rooms, activity rooms, dementia rooms and rehabilitation rooms. The
facility will also receive all new MEP/FP systems and extensive sitework
and landscaping.
Elder Services utilizes The Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly
(PACE) which addresses the needs of long-term care clients, providers and
payers. The comprehensive PACE service program allows the patients to
continue living at home while receiving services, rather than be
institutionalized.
