This new Athletic Complex was constructed simultaneously with the Academic Technology Center. The two-story facility was constructed of structural steel and CMU bearing walls with a brick and synthetic stucco facade. Interior spaces include a new NCAA regulation basketball court, weight training facilities, aerobics studio, athletic personnel offices,
classrooms, locker rooms, showers and bathrooms. Situated between a dormitory and a classroom building, this site proved to be a major traffic area for students, and careful attention was paid to fencing off the site and re-routing traffic flow. Construction was complete in June, two months ahead of schedule, and was opened for the 1999 summer camp program. |
