Bowdoin was selected at the inception of design as construction manager for this new Academic Technology Center. It is bordered on all sides by three existing campus buildings and the school's athletic playing fields. The three-story facility was cut into the side of a hill and has entrances at two different grades. Due to its central location, all underground utilities intersected at the building site and had to be relocated at the start of construction. The interior space accommodates the Dental Hygiene
program, the Orthopedic Therapy Assistant program, faculty offices, classrooms and conference rooms that are technologically equipped with ISDN
lines for long distance learning. |
