Bowdoin Construction Corp. was retained as
Design Builder for these intensive rehabilitation projects. These
two consecutive and contiguous jobs totaling 365,000 square feet, were
constructed over a fourteen month period. 465 Medford Street was completed in eight
months and provided a comprehensive rehabilitation of three interconnected
office buildings (shown below) totaling 185,000 square feet. The five-story portion required
all new slabs, and all of the facilities required new roofing, windows, MEP
systems, masonry restoration, as well as elevators and handicapped
accessibility. One of the challenges for Bowdoin was tidal dewatering and
significant structural shoring to support the mill building restorations. Phase
one also included the fit-out of all common areas. 425 Medford Street, which was
completed in six months, included restoration of the exterior building envelope
of a five-story, 180,000 square foot facility for adaptive reuse as an office
and distribution facility for Sales Link, Inc. New roofing, glazing, MEP systems, elevators, and
ADA compliance were a part of the program. This project also included the fit-out
of all office space and common areas for Sales Link. |
